Telnet was one of the first protocols to be developed during the early stages of the ARPANET that later became the Internet. Telnet allows you to
login to another Internet location to gain access to databases, library catalogs, and interactive environments.
Telnet has been around for a long time now and is being replaced by communication protocols that provide better security, such as
SSH. The unsecured transmission of data over the internet poses a high security risk. It it very easy for knowledgable persons to
sniff passwords and other relevant information from unsecured communication and use it to break into other computers.
